Causes of Sore Throat
Sore throats are generally caused by infection with microorganisms that cause colds.Viruses and Bacteria Infection Causes
There are many viruses and bacteria that cause sore throat. Here are some of them:- Parainfluenza virus, coronavirus and rhinovirus (the most common causes)
- The influenza virus types A and B as the cause flu.
- Adenoviruses that also causes inflammation of the lining of the eye.
- Herpesvirus type 1 as the cause blister around the lip.
- Some types of streptococcal bacteria as the cause of streptococcal infection.
- Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) as the cause of glandular fever.
- Chicken pox.
- Diphtheria: severe respiratory disease.
How do you Infected?
Infection usually occurs in places or public facilities. Other than through direct contact with a person or object that the new holding, flu viruses spread through the air when an infected person who is coughing, talking or sneezing.The infection causes inflammation of the tonsils in the right and left side of your throat (tonsillitis) and on the back of the throat (pharyngitis).
Triggers sore throat that is not contagious
In some rarer cases, a sore throat can occur because in addition to viruses and bacteria, namely:
- Muscle tension from screaming for a long time.
- Tumors that contain cancer of the throat, tongue, or larynx.
- Irritation of the nasogastric tube. This is a tube that is used when a patient is unable to consume food or drink by mouth. The tube across the nose into the stomach to pass liquid food.
- Allergies to pollen or spores called hayfever.
- Cancer of the bone marrow (leukemia) or aplastic anemia, a condition when the bone marrow does not produce enough blood cells.
- Disease stomach acid due to reflux or acid reflux from the stomach into the throat.
- Irritation caused by alcohol or cigarettes.
- Suffered from Kawasaki disease that primarily affects children under five.
- Inflammation of the lining of the mouth that can be caused by chemotherapy or radiotherapy.
